What goes in the yellow recycling bin in Darwin

Yellow bin recycling can be so confusing....we totally want to make it simple. Did you know that in Darwin, everything from the yellow lid bin gets taken to the Materials Recovery Facility. Here, the recyclables get sorted and sent off to get processed into something new.

Put these in your yellow lid bin:

• all plastic containers marked with recycling symbol 1 to

• glass bottles/jars ( and the lids) and tins

• milk and juice cartons

• aluminium cans,

• Detergent bottles

• aerosols ( can only )

• Beer bottles/cans, beer cartons and wine bottles

• egg cartons

• ice cream containers

• Junk mail

• Long life cartons

• Phone books

• Toilet paper rolls

• Yoghurt container

• cardboard,

• paper and paper towels

• magazines, newspaper
